Finding excuses is simple. Especially when it’s exam season. Is there a way you can stay fit and keep working for your fitness goals in this time? The answer is yes, of course! I will tell you how I keep myself fit when there are big exams coming up.
Do your workout first thing in the morning
In exam season, you typically study all day long for the upcoming exams. When you are sitting at home all day it’s easy to bail on your workout. The solution to this is to go right after you wake up in the morning. That way you can get it done before you even start studying and the chance that you will simply not do your workout is a lot smaller.
Keep healthy snacks nearby
I don’t know about you but whenever I study, I get sooo hungry. Quite frankly, that is just because I don’t want to study and eating is the best procrastination, right? :b So that I don’t reach for the next bag of chips or some other unhealthy snack I like to prepare some healthy snacks. (Contact me if you want a blogpost of my favorite healthy snacks ;))
Do many short workouts in between studying
Sometimes while studying, I get extremely tired. That is partly because my heart rate and blood pressure goes down. That’s why I love to do quick 5 minute workouts (like HIIT) every 30 -60 minutes of studying to get my heart rate up. This wakes me up and helps me stay fit.
Do at home workouts
This goes hand in hand with doing workouts in between periods of studying. Sometimes, you just don’t have the extra 30 minutes to get to the gym. If you don’t have the time to go and do a 1-2 hour workout like usually, just try to find alternative training that doesn’t take as long. You could do a HIIT workout that only takes 10 minutes instead of spending half an hour on the treadmill. Doing home-workouts saves you time and keeps you fit at the same time!
Build it into your schedule
My last tip: really plan out your day. Make time for studying and for your workout too. This way, you can’t make excuses like “I have to study” or “I don’t have time for a workout today”, because you’ve already planned your day in order to be able to go to the gym.
I hope I could help you with this post:)
Good luck for your upcoming exams!
